Never Let Me Go - Kazuo Ishiguro

Hallo everyone.. Welcome back to my blog!!

Today I'am going to share the synopsis about the novel that I read before. The title of this novel is Never Let Me Go, this novel is created by Kazuo Ishiguro and has 288 pages. Let's enjoy to read the synopsis below..

Kazuo Ishiguro's novel is very interesting, life concerning human children who are raised to adulthood until they already feel enough to donate their limbs through several stages. Never Let Me Go is a sci-fi drama that emphasizes the strength of the characterization and depth of the story, especially the aspect of humanism that is very thick.

Overall, Never Let Me Go is divided into 3 rounds, the first is the friendship of the small trio Tommy, Kathy, and Ruth at the school named Hailsham. Hailsham itself is a school to educate cloned children who will later get their calls to donate their limbs. All students in the school receive high education and are very closed to the outside world. Even every time, they must show an ID in the form of a metal bracelet on a reading machine mounted on the wall.

Once teenagers, Tommy trio (Andrew Garfield), Kathy (Carey Mullligan), and Ruth (Keira Knightley) are moved to a plantation called The Cottages. There, the three of them met also with alumni from Hailsham and knew the wider outside world. From one of the alumni, they got rumors that there was a delay for donors if they were a couple who loved and loved each other. Tommy's relationship with Ruth is getting closer and they seem to love each other. Seeing this, Kathy seemed to feel lonely. She also chose to leave The Cottages and continued her desire to become a nurse until it was time for her to donate her body.

What is the main conflict of the characters here is their own search for their life goals, that they also want to be like humans in general, have love and dreams, not just become donor material. Those who are big at Hailsham are people who cannot escape from the fate that one day there will be a time to donate themselves. They cannot cancel or delay, when the time comes, they must. There are two contradictions here, of which donors are charitable activities, but on the one hand, they can also stop the big dreams of young people to find their way of life. But they must be when they are called and become elected.

I also watched the film of Never Let Me Go, and it was amazing too.
Never Let Me Go tells about fate, love, and dreams. All packed neatly and nicely with beautiful cinematography from Adam Kimmel and music from Rachel Portman who made heartbreaking. What I captured from this film is about who we really are and whether we can share with everything we have so that it makes us human. I love the deep story, I like the execution, and this film will be one of the drama films that will be memorable for me and managed to provoke my empathy to every character, especially Kathy who is the toughest of the others.
